How Not to Be a Pair

Poem by Anightowl:

Far away places
Suddenly near
Transform the mystery
Reduce the sphere
Of the world I’ve lived in
For most of my years

Radio City, Rockefeller Center
Even Times Square
Are smaller than imagined
But this is where
I learned my best lesson

How not to be a pair.

What would life be like

If I lived in the city?

Self important and refined?

Or the object of Pity?

The outcome of life is not

always the fault

of the one who escapes

as they are closing that vault

A certain amount of

our life is determined

by the whims of the gods

who laugh as they are churning
